Tony was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. His father, experienced in ceramic tile, started his own business and his parents owned and managed rental properties. As a child, Tony often went to work with his parents where he enjoyed learning a variety of skills. Influenced by his family’s hard work, drive and determination, Tony ultimately made the decision to pursue his own business.
After graduating from High School, Tony obtained his Master Plumber’s license. This was the first step in pursuing his dream of building homes. He started the company in 1985. Joining him was his brother, Dean, who was knowledgeable and very skilled in electrical work. For the first few years, the two brothers concentrated on plumbing, electrical and tile work as well as gaining experience in heating and general contracting. It was in 1988, three years after the start of the business, when Pitell built their first home.
Through the years, together the two brothers developed other businesses to further broaden their skill set. The addition of excavation, footers, foundations and waterproofing services both complimented Tony’s Home business and helped see them through the tough housing times. These supplementary services ultimately allowed Pitell to become an “All Phase” builder for their customers.
For the past 30 years, the Pitell family name has been synonymous with new home construction in both Allegheny and Butler Counties. Tony is grateful to have had the opportunity to fulfill his dream. Today, he is even more grateful to still be doing what he loves to do which is fulfilling his customers’ dream by taking them home.
