What kind of homes does Pitell Homes build?
Pitell Homes is a semi-custom home builder serving the north Pittsburgh, PA area. We build single-family homes, ranch-style homes, and maintenance-free quad patio homes. We also offer a Build on Your Lot program for buyers who already own land or are looking to purchase a building lot.
What's the difference between semi-custom, custom, and production builders?
A production builder runs the same floor plans on hundreds of lots with very limited choices — sometimes as few as two paint colors and one exterior elevation. A full-custom builder draws plans from scratch around your needs, which gives you total flexibility but takes longer and costs more.
Pitell Homes is a semi-custom builder: you choose from our floor plan library (12+ single-family floor plans or the Hampton patio home plan), then personalize it through an expanded options menu—typically two to three times the selection options a production builder offers. You get real personalization without the full-custom price tag or timeline.
Where does Pitell Homes build?
We build north of Pittsburgh, specifically across Northern Allegheny County and Southern Butler County. Active communities include Liberty Pointe just outside Saxonburg (Cabot, PA), with more communities launching Spring 2027. We also offer the Build on Your Lot program for buyers who already own land. We do not build south of the rivers or in the eastern Pennsylvania market.
How long has Pitell Homes been in business?
Pitell Homes has been building in the Pittsburgh region for more than 37 years. We’re privately owned and operated, and we are not a national or regional production builder. In the past four years alone, we’ve earned seven Housing Excellence Awards from the local trade association, including Best Home of the Year in Pittsburgh.
How long does the new home building process take?
Most Pitell homes take approximately seven months from contract to closing, depending on the floor plan, customization choices, and weather. Quick move-in homes (finished spec homes in Liberty Pointe and other Pitell communities) are available immediately for buyers who don’t want to wait through a full build cycle.
What's included as standard in a Pitell home?
The features included in our communities go well beyond what most builders consider standard. That includes poured concrete foundations, quartz countertops, ceramic tile in all baths, luxury vinyl plank flooring in main living areas, stainless steel LG appliances, custom cabinetry design, 96% high-efficiency furnaces, Low-E windows, and a 30-year dimensional roof.
